What's new with me?

Well, I have finished the little Witch Hat shop all except for the paper clay stone flooring exterior (which I'm in waiting for my paper clay muse to come back :), and since have been FINALLY working my tail off on my Haunted House which I am making out of the Greenleaf Tennyson kit.
I'm just now at the point where I'm putting the the house together, and have alot of the small bits and pieces to R&P and get them ready for assembly.
Not any beautiful pics to share at the moment but, I promise as soon as I think a shot may be worthy, I'll post is asap.

Halloween Graveyard and Crypt

This is my haunted dollhouse's graveyard which includes Doreen Valiente's crypt, and a few grave stones and some spooky trees.

The base was made out of floral foam, toilet paper and glue, and lots of coffee and tea as well as moss for it's ground covering. It will sit next to the haunted house I'm making from the Tennyson Dollhouse currently in the works :)

It really was lots of fun to make!

Mythos has arrived!

Cosmina's finace finally arrived from his long journey across the globe!

Needless to say they were very happy to see each other.

Her family purchased a couple of pigs for the dowry. The wedding is soon to happen and the parties have begun!

Both Cosmina and Mythos were made by Gina Gagnon at Lone Wolf Mini Creations .

My goodness what a rude host I've been.
I'm honestly not proud of it in fact, I'm really embarrassed that I have not welcomed Whittaker's Miniatures, Tallulah-Belle, Kim, and Salasandra so a huge WELCOME! to you all!
Sometimes I think I do things that I didn't actually do....old age setting in, me thinks....now where did I leave my keyboard..;)

My current project; Harry Potter-esque Hat Shop!

"The Howling Hat Shoppe" is what's been keeping me occupied the last week or so.
I got the Houseworks Street of Shops to make a little mini Diagon Alley.
The one I've been working on is the the small, one window shop.
I bought several of Kat's (Kat the Hat Lady) hats. Some I got to decorate myself. I love that :)
I was going to put them in the "Imperium Draconis" dollhouse on the 2nd floor but, I thought it would be much more fun to do a dollhouse dedicated to just selling the hats.
I'm in the process of figuring out how to age the copper over the window, and even if I want to attempt. it but, I really think it needs the aging.

Been busy with all the Halloween goodies...yes, already :)

I decided to get started on my Halloween things for all the dollhouses.

It seems that every holiday just creeps up on me every year, and before I know it, I'm not prepared!

I decided to make a bunch of icky spooky food for buffets, and got a bit carried away. I ended up making about 8 or 9 of each so, I'm selling the extras off on my Etsy page here http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5166001.

I try every Halloween to make some Witches or Wizards hutches too which I have listed as well.

Did'nt win but, it certanily was fun!!

Lothlorie-Inn did not win the Spring Fling 2009 contest but the winners did an awsome job, and provided so much eye candy I went into diabetic shock. lol
Now that that's over, I can finish up what I did not have time to complete on it, and then get back to Imperium Draconis.

Here it is!!

Okay, here she is! The “Sugar Fairy’s” Bed & Breakfast called “Lothlorie-Inn”. The purveyors of Lothlorie-Inn are Sugar Faes, and how do I know this?

True storey: I was setting up some of the stuff in their kitchen and pulling out what food I would be using for the scene, and then my entire house was permeated by the smell of baking brownies or chocolate chip cookies….I wasn’t baking anything at all though!! Yep, I had a Fae encounter, and they were quite clear about who was waiting to inhabit the house. Infact, they were super excited for me to hurry up and finish it! Needless to say this house will never belong to me but, that’s just fine by me. Always happy to oblige the Fae folk!

The Sugar Fae are also fine makers of “Fairy Berry Wine” whose berries grow wild only in certain areas of the Enchanted Forest. Sweet and intoxicating as they may be, Fairy Berries are poisonous to humans and should never be eaten by us however, the Fae Folk come from all over the world to stay at Lothlorie-Inn just to drink their fine wine and eat their yummy food.

Lothlorie-Inn was inspired by many things. “Middle Earth’s” “Lothloriein” where the Magical Elves dwell, “Rivendale” another Elf dwelling in “Middle Earth”, “A Mid Summers Night Dream” by William Shakespeare, and most of all my imagination.

The House it’s self was finished in paper clay and stucco on it’s exterior, paper clay flooring on the 1st floor, and on the floors above there are a couple of different kinds of strip wood and skinny sticks.In the garden right in front of the house are hundreds of flowers incased in a paper clay stone retaining wall.Each stone was hand made of course.

Well, the house is in the completion stage and the pics will be taken this weekend.
Having trouble wit one of the chandeliers though. I might have to rip it out and re-stucco the room.
3 of the 5 lights do not work. Hopefully when I get the bulbs changed it will work.

It's a sunny Fae day!

I forgot about these pics I took of some Fairies on the Unicorns back.
I love this Unicorn but, have not named her yet.
She was hand made and sculpted, and then brushed with iridescent paint.

I love these! I got them from Kat the Hat Lady and, they are going into the "Imperium Draconis" Occult Shop which is the house that I'll be finishing up right after the spring fling contest house is done!

I't getting down to the wire now, and the finishing touches are being made on the house in preperation for picture day!
Much has been done, and still much more needs to be made and put together. Stay tuned...we're almost there!

Update on the Spring Fling...

Okay, here we go. Now, don't forget that you can guess more than once everyone!
The exterior is almost complete with the exception of the detailing which I need to save for last.
I'm making almost all of the lighting in the house, and that's getting finished up, and wired in today so that I can finish the interior. Whooo hooo!
After all of this is finished comes the landscaping and although there is much to do on that, I need to really try and focus on the structure itself.

Update on the mysterious Spring Fling '09 house..

Okay well most of the stuctures exterior finishing is done! Whooo hooo!
Hubby cut out a lovely deck for it last night, and today I'm working on its finishings. I still have some of the interior to do and since I'm adding fiber optics to this house, I think I'm in for a challenge. I hope it all turns out as I wished it to! Lots of the what I'm working with are new mediums to me and that has been a challenge all on it's own. Well, it's good though...I probably never would have tried any of them had I not decided to turn this house into a ______ _______ ___ ______ otherwise :)

My Gallows is going...

My dear hubby made this for me for my Western scene that I really have not had time to complete. Now with several other projects going, I decided to sell the beaut!

It's really sad to part with minis but, Hubby will make me another. Infact, he's really very talented in making some fab little goodies and, I might just have to put him in business in the mini world!

The Last Days Saloon at Hanged Mans Gulch

This is the Lily by Carona Concepts and the place where the new Saloon girl resides.
Obviously the house needs a ton more work to make it look more realistic but, it's my one of 5 or 6 that I am currently trying real hard to finish :)

I got the 1st 2 floors of the kit bash done but, they are currently drying. After all of the floors are done, I can go ahead and put the structure together.
I fear I won't have enough time to complete this in 5 weeks time.
I have a huge amount of things to do on it and for it.
Wish me extra luck!

Spring-Fling Dollhouse Thing

Hubby and I have been working hard on the bash of this littele guy.
We are making this one quite a bit larger than it was originally and it's unfornate but, we can't show pics or even say what it's going to be due to the secrecy factor of the contest.
It will be 6 weeks before the contest pics go in to Greenleaf Dollhouses at which point we can post the pics here.

This is what I made for the Spring Fling 2008 contest with Greenleaf Dollhouses.

I actually started this with the Vintage Travel Trailer Kit by Greenleaf, and I felt she needed nice sleeping quarters so I put the contest house on top as a kind of pop-top!

Well, I'll be working on Greenleafs Spring Fling contest house for the next 6 weeks. It really is not a good amount of time to make any kind of cool structure but, hubby is helping with the build on this one and should allow me more time for the fancy stuff.
